One of the things that has helped me become a better jazz musician has been transcribing dozens of solos from some of my favorite jazz artists. Some of these transcriptions include voicings for the left hand, while others use chord symbols instead. I hope you find these transcriptions beneficial to your playing and please support these artists through purchasing their recordings.

After many years in the making, I am very pleased to announce the release of this new book of Fred Hersch transcriptions. Ever since I first heard Hersch’s music, he’s been at the top of my list of favorite jazz pianists. I am especially drawn to his solo piano playing, which is full of beautifully executed improvised counterpoint. I took great care to ensure accuracy in these transcriptions, as well as to notate the music in a manner which properly displays the multiple voices. It was an honor working with Hersch on this project.
